Like other milestones in civil liberties legislation, the acceptance of interracial wedding has barely been a smooth, celebrated or instantly procedure.

Apparently unfathomable, just 50 years back it had been unlawful for blacks and whites to marry in 16 states as a result of “anti-miscegenation” guidelines. Nevertheless the Supreme Court redirected history whenever it hit straight down guidelines prohibiting interracial wedding, on June 12, 1967, in Loving v. Virginia.
