A “tender container” am a water-tight (usually steel) bin that are great for in the “possibles case” and found items that were simple to ignite for fire producing, these things integrated “char cloth” that has been manufactured by setting pads in an air snug steel container and placing it over a fire to “char” without in fact igniting it.
